Wording Of Wedding Invitations
First of all, your guests have to be informed about who is hosting the event. Then comes the invitation itself. Regarding the couple, the bride should be mentioned first, with her first name only, followed by the groom. Date and time have to be mentioned clearly. Guests will be informed about the location of the ceremony and about the party coming after. Your invitation must contain a reply card, so the people you invited have to confirm their presence and number at the event. You have to specify a date by which you get back the answer.

There are some rules in addressing your guest. If some of them have professional titles, such as doctor, lawyer, engineers, address them so. Do not use Mr. and Mrs. for everybody. Spell out their full names and don’t use abbreviations. The first letters of the lines needn’t to be capitalized, only if the word is a proper noun. If you want a party with no children, than put in your invitation the specification: “Adult Reception”. Give the people you invite clues about what they should wear at the event, by a simple symbol.
A very little black tie will be enough for them to know that it would be a formal wedding, and they have to dress up properly. In case you are organizing a destination wedding, include information about the place you picked up. Maybe a brochure of the main hotels is a good idea. Although you have to respect rules, you can be original in wording of wedding invitations. They should reflect your personality and the feelings you have for those whom you invited.
Here is an example of standard wording: "Mr. and Mrs. Jack Donovan/request the honor of your presence/at the marriage of their daughter/Mary Elisabeth/to/Lucas Moore/at the Heat Club/Saturday, the First of May/Nine o'clock in the evening".

If the wedding will be a non-traditional one, then you can be creating at wording. But you must include all the important details, only the manner you do it will be different.
Here is an example of non-traditional wording: "We will be delighted if you join us/to celebrate love, friendship and family /as /Mary Elisabeth Donovan /and /Lucas Moore/Join their hands in holy matrimony /Saturday, the 1st of May /9 o'clock in the evening /at the Heat Club".
