Wedding Invitations Black And White

Life is meaningful only in relation to darkness, and truth presupposes error. It is these mingled opposites which people our life, which make it pungent, intoxicating. We only exist in terms of this conflict, in the zone where black and white clash. And what do I care about white and black? Their realm is death.”  This quote belongs to the famous French poet and novelist, Louis Aragon. These few words make an exact description of the powerful and important significance of the black and the white as ancient symbols. Everybody have heard about the Chinese concept of the yin and yang, describing the contrary or polar forces which are interdependent or interconnected and give rise to each other. In some cultures, black is often associated with the negative forces while white with the benefic ones and in some other cultures the description of these colors is reversed.

In western culture black is authoritative and it can symbolize strong emotions like the feeling of emptiness, fear or the overwhelming primordial void; it can represent darkness, silence, chaos, bereavement, anarchy, individuality and evil; white is the color associated with God, heaven, angels, sometimes Death, knowledge, purity, nobility, snow, innocence, peace, softness, clouds, winter, and so on.

In the same western culture white is used for the bridal gown as a symbol of chastity and purity, while black, ever since the Roman Empire era, has been considered the color of mourning. In Japanese culture, the white traditional dress worn by the bride means the death of the former family and the introduction in a new one but this color is also associated with youth, inexperience and naiveté while kuro or black symbolizes age, experience and nobility, while the white color is associated with naiveté and youth. For a wedding ceremony usually the groom wears a black tuxedo or an elegant suit and only the dress of the bride is white, but lately things have changed and so is fashion, so the bride doesn’t necessarily have to choose for a white gown. These two contrasting colors can create some outstanding visual effects when used on the same piece of paper so I highly recommend choosing the design of the wedding invitations having black and white as main colors. You can either choose black as the predominant color or white, the important thing is to search for a black and white wedding invitation with a classic pattern or design.

There is no need to worry about what wedding invitation to choose because there is an wide variety of black and white wedding invitations available for sale on the market or online, coming in all different stylish or funny color combination, patterns, sizes or shapes. The shape is essentially special when we are referring to the classical double envelope or a single one. If the predominant color of the invitation card is white, you can use black ink to have the text written, when the predominant color is black, try to use silver or white ink, for an elegant look. On the invitation you ought to find the basic information about the future wedding ceremony: the name of the wedding hosts, in most cases being the bride’s parents, the name of the bride and groom and their families, the date, time and location of the ceremony, with some details like directional signs, a map of the wedding location, if the wedding has a theme and if the guests have to wear something different from the normal outfit, or if there is an after-party or reception to follow after the religious ceremony; and since the wording etiquette is less strict today, you can also add your personal touch to the invitation by selecting and adding some favorite poems, verses or even quotes.

Add an RSVP if you find the attendance response very important for the future wedding arrangements and mail the wedding invitations with ten to six weeks in advance. An option would be to send to your guests a ‘save the date’ wedding card but it does not replace the formal wedding invitations but just acts like a reminder. If you plan the wedding carefully or in minute details and follow the above tips I don’t see what any other inconveniences may arise during the long wait until the eventful day.
