Seal And Send Wedding Invitations

I remember as a child when I watched fascinated the movies of beautiful medieval love stories of Romeo and Juliet, of Guinevere and Lancelot, of Tristan and Isolde, of Robin Hood and Marian all of them describing so accurately the atmosphere of those times, with their costumes, their habits, their traditions. Back then I think it was the first time that I discovered the way the medieval people used to communicate from far distance between them with the help of messengers who were sent to carry the news in a shape of a paper scroll bearing a waxed seal to fix one end of the rolled paper in order to keep the content of the letter away from other eyes than the ones the letter was intended to be seen.

In those times this was the way to deliver a message and sealing the letters was the manner in which they protected the content of the letter, the seal was the one that guaranteed the authenticity of the sender since it bore the print of a symbol that represented his title or nobility rank. Sending sealed letters was indeed the privilege for the high classes, since they were the ones who needed a seal in order to render the importance of a letter to the one who was supposed to receive it.

Therefore the messengers to deliver the mail were very carefully selected since they were the ones who carried the message and should have guard it sometimes even with the price of their lives. They had to be faithful to the person who hired them and prove over and over again their loyalty by safely delivering the mail. Some of the messengers were selected also according to their skills in fighting since so many times they would have face the danger of confronting enemies who were after the mail they were carrying and they needed to get hold on it and protect it even if that meant losing their lives.

The same way of delivering a message was used by the lovers who were secretly in love and because they wanted to cover the distance laid between them they sent love letters to the beloved one with the purpose to relieve themselves of the great burden that love had put on their souls. Of course it was only a small attempt to soothe their longing for the beloved one till they had the chance to meet again.  They sealed the letter many times with symbols representing their love and commitment to their relationship, in this way assuring the person they loved of their dedication.

In the present times, the shape of a seal and send letter has been preserved only for special occasions held to celebrate happy events in people's life, for instance weddings. Seal and send wedding invitations have gained popularity due to the special shape they are presented to the addressee arousing interest while being received. The scent of a romance is delivered together with the invitation and the effect that it carries is at the same time intriguing and fascinating.
