Informal Wedding Invitation Sample Wording

The wording etiquette for the wedding invitations usually demands the use of a formal and traditional language or addressing form and to always include only the basic or necessary information about the wedding without any details.

The informal wording is a bit different from the formal one and that is because the couple may opt to be creative and inventive and issue the invitation by using their own words. Sometimes the bride and groom may add a personal touch to the wedding invitation by starting the invitation with a favorite quote, verse or poem; it is not necessary to mention the name of the wedding hosts.

The first wording example written right below is the formal wording; this one is used so that the comparison between the traditional and informal wording to be more understandable.

In most of the cases the bride’s parents act as the wedding hosts and pay for the wedding so one wording example can be this one: “Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Thomson, invite you to join them in a celebration of love, as their daughter, Tina, is united in marriage to Timothy Duncan, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Duncan, on Saturday, the fifteenth of April, two thousand and ten, at six o’clock in the evening, St. George’s Church, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Continue the celebration at the reception following the ceremony”.
