Handmade Wedding Invitations

“Love is the key that unlocked our souls and made them commit to each other opening the gates of a wedding celebration which is to take place on…” and the rest of the wedding details to follow next. This is the motto that you decide to include on the front pages of your handmade wedding invitations. You have chosen this manner of creating the wedding cards, because you have planned right from the beginning to go for an original style of celebrating the wedding event. And this originality could be conferred only by the authentically imprinted style and design of a wedding card having touches of your personality.

And more than that you are willing to conduct the entire wedding planning process in the same note of originality: with you as the captain of the ship and your mother and bridesmaids as the rest of the crew helping you steering left or right or straight forward when your powers are down and the inspiration fails to come. But this is not the case now, with the designing of your wedding invitations, you have the motto and it is the one that helps you come up with the format of your handmade wedding invitations. The key-word that has functioned as a true source of inspiration is the “key” word (!) inside the motto, this one will be the key-element of the overall aspect of your wedding cards.

And as such you begin to ruminate around the topic: ok, the “key” will be the important decorative item of your card, but how will the final shape of your wedding cards should look like? Should you go for double hearts with one lying on top of the other being stuck in their middle sides and the one on top to open in two halves that resemble to a gate? Or should you simply go for a folded card that has two halves as front pages which open as a gate being locked with a chain made of intertwined golden silk thread and the key attached to one of its ends?

The last one might be interesting enough and definitely easier to be formatted, but the idea with double hearted card smiles back at you, therefore you consider the first option as being more relevant and more connected to the motto itself. Inside the wedding invitation you plan to write the specific wording which comes as a completion to the motto worded on the front pages having half-heart shapes.

Adjacent to the actual invitations there will be also extra cards inserted in the whole envelope to represent the RSVPs of your wedding celebration. The key that you will design will be simple handmade, cutting out from a strong card the shape of a simple key and through its hole to be easily inserted in the golden silk thread meant to seal the ‘gates’. The ‘chain’ will be fixed with a powerful transparent glue and the color of hearts will definitely be red; the color of passionate love. The presence of the key is symbolic of course, since it is meant only to emphasize with its visual effect, the words written in the motto of your wedding invitations.
