Color Wedding Invitations

The custom of sending wedding invitations to announce an important event such as the wedding day has its long history but the members of the French and English aristocracies made hugely popular his custom, especially back in the renaissance era. In the medieval ages almost all people from all social ranks had no education to read or write so the invitations were verbalized or issued out loud or the word was spread among family members or in the private social circles. In the beginning of the twentieth century the wedding invitations were adopted by people from all social ranks since education was not such a big problem; if they were too poor to afford sending or buying the invitations they had the cheap option of announcing the wedding day in a local or national newspaper.

The theme weddings have become increasingly popular in these past years and the reason could be that not all couples could afford having dreamful wedding days in exotic locations so they had to create the exotic atmosphere at home. The simple and white invitation card from the past was replaced with the colorful wedding invitation and patterned design one, coming in various shapes and sizes and at different prices.

The color of the wedding invitations can be chosen depending on its significance and symbolism and we know well the fact that each culture makes different color associations.

On the internet you can find numerous sites specialized with selling and custom making the invitations and the offers and the variety of wedding invitation colors and designs might be overwhelming but you can be sure that you can find some unique, elegant but also cheap wedding invitations. There two other alternative, apart from purchasing the invitations directly from online manufacturers: to make them by yourself using your artistic skill and creativity or personalizing them by adding a photo of the future married couple.

The design of the classic double or single envelopes can match with the invitations they will contain.

Thermography is the cheapest method of printing the invitations and since its discovery it made possible the mass production of wedding invitations in faster periods of time.

Thermography also has the great advantage of creating a beautiful raised letter and pattern effect so it soon replaced the expensive alternative of writing the text by hand, using an intricate and elegant calligraphy style.

Whenever we talk about the colored wedding invitations we must also mention about the wording used in issuing the inviting; the wording etiquette makes things easier by indicating the do’s and don’ts when addressing the invitations to your invited guest.

The wording etiquette usually requires the use of a formal language, but its modern alternative is the use of an informal wording or non-traditional and creative language; it often includes the use of a funny wording style or favorite poems and quotes to start the inviting or by simply expressing the feelings of love and joyfulness in personal words.

The wedding invitation should contain information about the wedding ceremony and reception such as the location, time and date, the names of the wedding hosts, the name o the bride and groom; you can always add some other details you might find necessary for your guests such as the name of the wedding reception location, if the after party will take place immediately after the ceremony, if the wedding has a theme and how should your guests dress up for such a theme, add directional signs and a printed map if the location of the wedding is not familiar, etc.

The RSVP is mentioned only if the couple needs the attendance responses for the final arrangement of the wedding but it can also be replaced by the expression “Regrets only” if only the non-attendance responses are necessary. There is no need to write the RSVP on a separate card with a return address if you can add a phone number for contact.

The spelling mistakes can cause some grave embarrassments so the suggestion is to always read again with fresh eyes the information written on the wedding invitation and spot the wrong use of honorifics or addressing forms. Only after this process, you can safely seal the invitations in their classic double or single envelopes and mail them out with eight weeks in advanced before the established wedding day.
