Chic wedding invitations are surely a good choice. They will be complimented a lot and, why not, kept by your guests as souvenirs. An important part of wedding preparation is designing the cards.First step is to decide upon a general theme for the event and use it in your invitation. It can be a special color or the location itself.

Monograms are perfect embellishments for chic wedding invitations, adding them a luxurious touch. They consist of the initials of bride and groom’s names, often interlocked. The only thing you need is a special font and an unusual color. One may select one of those chic color combinations, capable of transforming a common card into a sophisticated one. Use gold both as the main color, or only as an accent, combining it with another shades. Very elegant are gold-lined papers and envelopes. Use powerful colors, like blue, green, red or violet. Another idea is to combine them with silver and gold.

A simple ribbon can turn your card into a very chic one. Use a thin ribbon, make small loops on it and create a rose to attach to your wedding invitation. Color its center with a bead glued on it. You can also thread the ribbon on the card, creating an original design. Ribbons may be easily transformed into wraps. Create your own wax seal and apply it on the back of the invitations, for an old charm effect.

Respect the etiquette of addressing guests. Inform them who is the host of the ceremony and clearly specify, location, date and time. Maybe a good idea would be to include in your invitations an Event Guide, a little map on which you point out all the interesting places. A reply card is a must. Ask the invitees to confirm their presence and indicate the date you expect the answers.

When addressing people, do it according to their professional titles. Don’t use abbreviations or nicknames. Check the text several times, no spelling mistakes are allowed.

A non-traditional text will not transform your invitation into a less elegant one. For an even more chic wedding invitation, give up paper in favor of any textile material. The text may carved on a stylized little piece wood. Decorate the cards with anything you find attractive: pressed flowers, sand, beads or even jewels. All look good if placed well.

If you still think that text looks better on paper, than you have many options. Vellum and parchment paper, or a combination of them will be appropriate. Cardboards and handmade papers are also popular. Be creative when choosing the location itself. Instead of organizing it in a church or a reception hall, invite guests on the baseball stadium or in a public park. Cut your wedding right there. If you want everybody to talk about your wedding than find a non-traditional mean of transportation, like a helicopter, a yacht or just a horse drawn carriage.
