In everything we do and everything that surrounds us we see the print of modernism and its omnipresence influences our way of living and thinking and looking toward things. There are people who don’t like to hear about the old times, they don’t like to see traces of history left on the surface of things or different items that could decorate our spaces; in fact they even say that they don’t want to be surrounded by fossils, they need the presence of new, of the modern to feel that they are living in these times and not in the ancient moments of a past full of dust and forgetfulness. The spirit of modern is so important to them, though they should consider that it is actually the past that had built the present of our beings, of who you are nowadays.




I remember that one of my friends couldn’t stand me seeing to go shopping in the antique stores. She kept asking me what was there so interesting to see, not to mention to buy?! She was more of a modern stuff to buy, she kept telling me that whenever she passed by an antique store she lived under the impression that there was a museum she just crossed and visiting a museum that displayed ancient history was never her style.  She couldn’t understand either my taste in purchasing antic things for being used as decoration for the inside of my house. She said that merely the look of that ‘old stuff’, as she called it, made her feel that she lived in a museum. She needed to have a house decorated with things to belong to the modern times of art, of decorative items, of furniture and not something that is so heavy-loaded with the years of past rusty times spread all around the house.

And she is right; everything that is in her house regarding the items of decorations, the furniture, the arrangements of the various objects, everything belongs to the modern style and when the day of her wedding has been established not big have I been surprised to realize that she is planning to have it organized in a modern way: with a small celebration by the sea shore, wearing a non-formal modern beach wedding dress (I Know this because I have accompanied her when she had it picked up from the bridal store). As I expected she had it first the dress purchased and after that she started planning to send the wedding cards which she intended to have them in the shape of cheap modern wedding invitations, not to step out of the modern style of her wedding celebration.

Browsing the sites, she reached the conclusion that ordering the modern wedding invitations directly from the bridal stationeries would cost her a certain amount of money that she could otherwise save or have it spent in a more suitable way; for instance to have their honeymoon as a sequel of their beach wedding by the hotel that was supposed to host the celebration of the wedding reception.

So the conclusion was to come next with their own creation of cheap modern wedding invitations and for this she did some researches on the websites that displayed the invitations modernly designed and from there she got some inspired ideas which she used in combination with the beach theme of her wedding. In the end they turned out to be very creative, with a less cost of money, carrying the print of the modern style she had always admired.
